Please meet three incredible men – Burnon, Jon and Aaron aka The Lost Boys – who are taking part in The World’s Toughest Row 2027, rowing the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for Friends of PICU!

The World’s Toughest Row is an extreme endurance race and is the premier event in ocean rowing. Competitors from across the globe test themselves against the might of the Atlantic Ocean. The Challenge will take them, unsupported, from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua and Barbuda. This is one extremely tough challenge and throughout their journey they will endure:

🚣       3,000 miles of ocean

🛏        2 hours rowing, 2 hours rest, repeat 24/7

📆       30-60 days at sea

🌊       Up to 40ft waves

💪       20% loss of body weight

🚱       Severe dehydration

🔥        40-degree heat

🦈       Shark infested waters

🌩        Atlantic storms

😷       Sleep deprivation, blisters, salt sores and sea sickness

😴       Exhaustion and hallucinations

Kerry was delighted to meet with Burnon and Aaron recently to hear all about this phenomenal challenge and their reason for taking part – to say thank you for the care given to a friend’s child in PICU. Burnon told Kerry “We’re rowing for Charlie, and every child like him. Friends of PICU helps give critically ill children a fighting chance by funding lifesaving equipment and family support, something we’ve seen the impact of firsthand.”

The Lost Boys are looking for partners and sponsorship with people who share their value and vision for Friends of PICU as well as an appetite for adventure.  Their challenge is ambitious and there is a cost in just getting to the start line.  By partnering with The Lost Boys, your business will be able to benefit in many ways, as well as helping them raise vital funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Please visit their website https://www.thelostboys.blog/ or give them a follow on Instagram @thelostboys_27 and please show them your support.

We’ll be keeping you updated on how their training is going but in the meantime, we would like to say the biggest of Thank Yous to The Lost Boys for their truly utterly incredible support!
