How you can get involved with FoPICU
By being part of ‘Team FoPICU’ you will help to make a real difference to children being treated on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Southampton Children’s Hospital at the most difficult of times and when they need it most.
There are different ways you can get involved with Friends of PICU. Whether you choose to donate your time, gifts or money, school or company support, take on a fundraising challenge, attend one of our events, or create your own event and raise money, they all really make an enormous difference to the children and their families.
Participate in an event or a challenge organised by FoPICU
We offer a range of fundraising challenges occurring at different times of the year, for individuals, groups, or companies and we will support and encourage you every step of the way.
Feeling sporty or looking for an adrenalin rush, why not try a 10k, half marathon or even a full marathon in Southampton, a landmark 100mile cycle ride in a day, a game of golf, or conquer your fears with an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower, or go higher with a tandem skydive in Salisbury.
Organise your own fundraising event or create your own unique challenge
Want to do your own thing, love organising, got a great idea – perhaps a bake sale, head shave, tea-party or plant sale, virtual event, crafting, creating, colouring or a coffee morning?
We’d love to hear all about it! We can help to promote or provide additional support, if required. If you are not sure what you would like to do, or unsure on how to go about organising your idea, we would be delighted to help.
Participate in other challenges
Looking to challenge yourself for Friends of PICU, perhaps locally or internationally? Walking, kayaking, trekking, swimming, running, obstacle course, pulling a plane, or whatever challenge you are thinking about or have chosen to take on, we would love for you to support and raise money for Friends of PICU.

Gifts
Friends of PICU also accepts ‘gifts in kind’ for raffle prizes at our major events run throughout the year, or, donations such as new and unused, toys, blankets, toiletries, baby and children’s clothes, and vouchers, that we can use on the PICU, or family accommodation to support children and their families. Donations help us go above and beyond to support the young patients of the PICU and their families. The invaluable support we receive from individuals, businesses, schools and volunteers each year means we are able to continue to provide funds for the additional equipment and services required by the medical team, and create a comfortable and caring environment.
