We are absolutely thrilled to share that the Hilton Southampton – Utilita Bowl has chosen Friends of PICU as their Charity Partner!
Friends of PICU has received some incredible support from the Hotel over the last few years including space for our Elves to help Santa with wrapping of Christmas presents for all the children and families in PICU, toiletries for the families in PICU, donation of raffle prizes and items for fundraising events, and for all our PICU families that were lucky enough to get a ticket to our incredible PICU Family Christmas Party in December – this very special party was only possible because of the very generous support of the Hilton Southampton – Utilita Bowl.
During this time the team at the Hotel got to know more about the work of the Charity and the support we provide to PICU, the children and their families, and wanted to get more involved. We were delighted to welcome members of the Management Team, and their Blue Energy Committee, to visit the Charity recently to show them the work we do, to learn more about the PICU Unit and the PICU retrieval service.
Martin Rogers, General Manager, shared with us “Supporting the Friends of PICU Charity based at Southampton Children’s Hospital is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of critically ill children and their families”.
All Departments at the Hotel are actively involved in fundraising and supporting Friends of PICU, and we’ve heard there’s some inter-Department fundraising competition already underway! The team have already raised a fantastic amount of money with staff quiz nights, raffles, offers in the restaurant, collection pots and selling of our charity merchandise. We have 4 members of the team taking to the skies this month for a sponsored skydive, and we will soon be sharing a very special offer from the Spa Team for all our PICU families, and their friends!
