On Friday 26th March, starting at 7.00 pm, Thomas is going to RUN 100 MILES non-stop to raise money for Friends of PICU! Thomas will be completing this incredible challenge with a 1-mile loop within Knowle Village and will keep going until the 100 miles are completed. Known as a back-yard Ultra, Thomas plans on making it an annual event!
Thomas decided to take on this amazing fundraising challenge following the care his friends’ daughter, Chloe, received on PICU which saved her life not so long ago. Thomas shared with us:
“There are 8 households that live on our little cul-de-sac style area of Knowle. During the first lockdown, we all came out on our doorsteps to clap for the NHS. Chloe was busy drawing rainbows and clanging pots for them. At this time, we all waved neighbourly but not really spent the time to get to know one another properly. Covid 19 Lockdown brought 8 families together. When we learned Chloe had been taken ill, it affected us all. And our community has come together to help the family in any way we can. My contribution is to help the PICU ward that saved Chloe’s life and specifically the Friends of PICU charity that helps families and loved ones of patients on the PICU.”
So far, Thomas has raised a phenomenal £1,720 via his Just Giving page, smashing through his original target of £500! If you would like to support Thomas with his challenge and make a donation to Friends of PICU please visit his Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/…/icuatw-picu-southampton…
We wish you all the best with this challenge Thomas and thank you so much for raising vital funds for Friends of PICU. We will be there on Friday to wave you off and cheer you on as you start this incredible challenge!
